Light a Candle: 5 months, 3 weeks agoLet’s pray together for the young gays and lesbians attending the Youth World Day in Madrid, Spain. I guess there’re some tens of thousands of them who travelled there to meet other young Catholics. And might think they still are ”the only gay in the village”. May the Lord give them strength and peace.

Light a Candle: 6 months, 3 weeks agoI had a friendly dinner yesterday with two gay couples who celebrate their 2 years wedding anniversary (we have legal gay weddings in Belgium). Both couples are very Catholic, and they wish they could be blessed in their parishes too, though one of them is accepted as a married couple when they go to mass. Please, keep them in your prayers, and…[Read more]

Light a Candle: 7 months, 3 weeks agoOur archbishop goes often out of his way to fight against everything remotely “gay”, the scariest being that he’s very charismatic and rational. And many gay Catholics are deeply hurt by his commitment. Today, one of them (Giovanni) confided in me that it’s very hard for him to go to mass at all. Please pray for them, especially for those who…[Read more]

Light a Candle: 8 months agoPlease keep in your prayers Gregory, who is terrified that his very Catholic parents discover he’s gay and don’t love him anymore.

Light a Candle: 8 months, 2 weeks agoplease support with your prayers two friends of mine who are getting married this Friday. The civil ceremony will take place at the City Hall and I’ll attend it. Of course, later, they might ask me to bless their wedding rings or their home, but I wish so much I could bless their love in a real church.

Lorenzo, As a guy who has been in a relationship for 26 years I know how much you wish that the union could and would be church sanctioned. I certainly wish my own could be. But one thing that I’ve really learned is that where there is love in a union of two people the Lord has blessed that union just as much as any church could. My prayers are…[Read more]

Light a Candle: 8 months, 2 weeks agoToday, I’d like you to pray for my friend Simon: he just told me he’s been accepted to join his diocese seminary. He’s gay and I know his bishop is far from being the homophile, so your prayers are really needed.
God bless.
